The Thanglong – Hanoi 1000 Years Golf Championship is officially launched and organized by Hanoi Golf Association.
This tournament is sponsored and recognized as one of sports and cultural activities to welcome the 1000th anniversary of Thanglong – Hanoi by the National Steering Board of the 1000th Thanglong Anniversary, Hanoi People’s Committee, Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Golf Association.
The qualifier round of Thanglong-Hanoi 1000 Years Golf Championship will be officially taken place on September 25, 2010 at 10 golf courses in three regions of the country which are selected by Organizing Committee, included:
The North:
· Royal Golf Course (Ninh Binh) – The ancient Hoa Lu capital 1000 years ago
· Van Tri Golf Course (Hanoi)- The capital 1000 years old
· Dong Mo Golf Course (Hanoi)
· Tam Dao Golf Course (Vinh Phuc)
The Middle:
· Vietnam Montgomerie Links Golf Course (Quang Nam)
· Sea Links Golf course (Binh Thuan)
The South:
· Thu Duc Golf Course (HCM City)
· Long Thanh Golf course (Dong Nai)
· Dong Nai Golf Course (Dong Nai)
· Vung Tau Golf Course (Ba Ria – Vung Tau)
Each golf course will have 100 golfers who are representatives of generations to compete with each other, so that the total participants of the qualifier round are 1000 golfers.
After the qualifier round, the organizing committee of each golf course will base on the result and the official handicap of players to choose 10 best golfers from 4 different divisions to take part in the final round in Hanoi.
100 golfers who passed the qualifier round will be invited to take part in the final round for free by the Organizing Committee. Moreover, 60 golfers from the South and the Middle will be offered free air tickets and free hotel by Organizing Committee.
The final round will gather 100 best golfers (40 golfers from the South, 20 golfers from the Middle and 40 golfers from the North) to compete with each other at Van Tri Golf Course in Hanoi one thousand years of culture on October 9, 2010.
Thanglong-Hanoi 1000 Years Golf Championship does not only have a great meaning in greeting the 1000th anniversary of Thanglong-Hanoi but also be the biggest event of golf game which has never happened before in Vietnam because it is the first time a tournament held in one day with the greatest number of participants (1000 golfers) and the greatest number of golf courses (10 golf courses) in Vietnam.
The tournament receives the sponsorship from three main co-sponsors which are VPBank, Vietnam Airlines and Viettel Corporation and the support of Taylormade- Addidas and Vinpearl Da Nang JSC.
Organizing Committee will award the personal prizes (Champion, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up) for each division and the technical prizes to the best golfers. Besides, Organizing Committee will also give the teammate prize (champion, 1st runner-up, and 2nd runner-up) to teams which have good performance.
